Story 1 HTML5 offers many new Web development features.

A new Cloud Communications Alliance was just announced at the Cloud Computing Expo in New York. It’s goal is to create the nation’s first high-def enterprise voice and data network in the cloud. The idea is to ensure flexible and manageable voice and unified communications solutions.

Story 3 Federal CIO Vivek Kundra recently delivered a keynote address on the potential economic benefits of cloud computing. According to Kundra’s presentation, the federal government spends over $76 billion annually on more than 10,000 systems to support 300 million-plus Americans. He says that technology infrastructure is “fragmented and inefficient,” and that “the number of federal data centers has grown from 432 to more than 1,100.”


Story 4 A cloud mashup is a new type of application that combines cloud computing services from multiple clouds with your on-premise data and services.

Story 5 Twitter recently announced at the Chirp conference that it’s getting its own data center.
