What is Social Media Entitlement Syndrome (SMES)? What was the inspiration to write the article?

Discussion on New Tips for Good Social Media (n)Etiquette. Dealing with weblebrities. Dating and social media, relationships being accelerated and wedding crashers. Going as far as saying “This dinner is off the 140 character record” (Sean).   The struggle between Privacy vs Transparency. “What do people mean by Transparency, we are as transparent as we choose to be, that is strategic marketing.” (Melissa)

“Weblebrities” – very funny! Entertaining show.

  • http://twitter.com/simonblackley Simon Blackley

Entertaining, but nonsensical on the problem of stalkers showing up at private parties. “Don't do it online if you wouldn't do it in offline” applies to the real guests as well as to the stalkers. Would you take out a newspaper ad to announce your birthday party? Would you announce it in a 10-foot high graffiti in your local shopping centre? So why announce it on Twitter and expect people to 'get' that your message was only intended for a private circle of friends?

    interesting point, Simon

Do these people actually get paid for this? I’d be shocked if there was any money in the company to give them a salary… and after watching for awhile, I don’t think they really deserve one.
