Episode 3 2

This Week in Startups #32 with George Naspo

George Naspo

Jason’s guest on this week’s show is George Naspo, CEO of IKANO Communications.  George has tons of experience (30 years plus) in the business world during which he’s bought and sold numerous companies – he’s got some great insights into how to evaluate companies that you don’t want to miss.  George has built up a reputation over the years as a “fixer”, brought in to fix up companies and turn them into power houses – check out the full episode to see why he was brought in to turn around IKANO Communications and the great job he’s done there.

We’re also running a special contest this week thanks to IKANO and PowerVPS, we’re running a special contest this week.  We’re giving away free VPS hosting for life to 5 lucky TWiST viewers.  Just head on over to Twitter and tweet why you should win free hosting for life.  Just make sure to include both “#TWiST” and “@PowerVPS” in your tweet.

Finally, we’re very excited to welcome Bing (yes, that Bing) on as the newest sponsor of TWiST.  Stay tuned over the next few weeks to see some of the great programs that Microsoft will be working with us on to help out everyone in the startup community.  And in the mean time, make sure to head over and check out the amazing new Bing Maps beta, with a truly amazing interface and capabilities.

See you all next week!

TWiST is brought to you by our generous sponsors:

Hey guys…thank you for another peek inside the minds of startup leaders. I feel like I just passed a “belt test” (likely only to blue belt now….lol!) by using some of Jason’s strategies to recognize his “tell” (poker term) over the past few weeks as he spoke more favorably about Microsoft than in the past…..and then announced in this episode Bing’s sponsorship of the show. Well done, team TWiST…..and well done, Microsoft. Sounds like a win-win deal.

I’ll humbly offer my request for a topic / guest for a future episode. Bring on a founder and day-to-day operator (at least for the early stage of the company’s growth) of a chain of retail stores. I’m fascinated to learn how similar….or different….the dynamics of bricks and mortar are compared to “Mahalo.com” viz a viz new entity launch, expansion to multi-units (stores) and additional layers of management, venture financing, prospects for exit, etc.

In return for your consideration of my request…..I offer this helpful tip. The “Bing” link on this page (below the embedded vid / aud players)….is broken. It directs to “www.bing.com.com”.

Thank you again for the amazing content!

    CHEERS!

Yes, we have a twitter account @bing and a bunch of us crazy Bingers who work it :). And I’m very glad to sponsor the show – keep up the killer work. Your passion for getting startups the exposure & info they need is what inspired us to work with you all. Keep cranking!

Please cut out the phone ringing sound effects before “Ask Jason” – it’s sooo annoying.
