The future of Social Check-Ins is now in the hands of Hashable.com. Mark Suster talks with Founder Michael Yavonditte about the unstoppable power of social sites and the millions of dollars backing them.
Funny that you say you like to ‘mix it up’ by occasionally having VC’s as guests. Yeah, it makes a lot of sense to ‘occasionally’ have VC’s on a VC show. Don’t you know, there is already a show about ‘people who are building companies’ on this network. It’s called “This Week in Startups”. Of the 34 TWiVC episodes that have aired so far, there are only 18 where you talked to VC’s about VC. Why do you ask entrepreneurs about user acquisition on a show about VC’s? Why was Michael Robertson invited on TWiVC to tell the same exact story about buying the domain mp3.com as he did on TWiST?
I think this show is totally missing out on a huge opportunity by not keeping it all about Venture Capital. With the massive rise of VC firms & other angel investors, there is such a huge demand for people who want to learn about investing. Right now, there is no show that’s really doing that, or at least doing it consistently well. There is so much that you could do with with this show. For example, you could have an ‘Ask a VC’ segment, or a ‘Deal of the Week’ segment, where you talk about the deal’s structure & provide commentary – you know, really get into the details of it. You used to talk about the week’s VC deals, but don’t anymore. Why not? I think the show should be about only “ONE Side of the Table’ – the VC side. Why do another Startups show?
Agree that this is less VC and more TWIST – HOWEVER, I come here for Mark’s insights so keep ‘em coming.
Interesting to hear your guys insights in the need/opportunity for someone to go at the space dominated by LinkedIn. Who do you see as the leaders in personal branding online especially for Professionals?
This is the best TWiVC episode ever. Fav part is @42 minutes
Grabbing props bro – you baller!
I don’t understand this, is watching on YouTube the only way to listen to the podcast. Where’s the MP3 download?
