Great interview…but what are you both drinking?

I am a U.K fan of TWIST/TWIVC and highly respect M.Suster etc. However the common theme in some of his recent episodes and blogs etc. is that its all about having technical founder etc. In a recent TWIVC episode he said something along the lines of he would rather have a couple of co-founding engineers then business founders etc.

Here he was with Matt Coffin who himself said he was more of a marketeer and not technical at all, but brought tech people into the team. This was not discussed at all, when Mark asked Matt whether he was technical at all and goes against the current advice given by the leading players in the tech scene about tech related startups.
Is Matt Coffin an example of an exception etc. I am a young entrepreneur who always wants to learn from the best. So if at all possible I would be grateful if Mark could address this in a future episode of TWIVC (i will also ask in a live chat during a show) as my thinking is quite influenced by you guys in the States. Thanks

    Sonny

Mark has mentioned on the show that it’s fine to be a business founder of a company and even encourages people to build a team of people (who might not necessarily be co-founders). The key is to have technical people on board who are incentivized by a significant amount of equity in your company and share the same passion. They don’t have to be co-founders, though.

“You know what the plan right now is? To do what we’re already doing well, better. That’s the plan”

    Golden quote.
