I thought this was a great episode until Mark asked about Tracy’s encounters with sexism.  She claims there is none.  Probably because she’s in a largely female-oriented market in the retail space.  Out of desperation, I finally found that I could feed script to my male partner, and it would be much more effective that if I said it.  And my partner would readily tell you that I was the one with the expertise and knowledge. Sexism is pervasive, but it can fly quite easily under the radar.

Her story is very typical. As founder of a startup, I am always looking for that special person who can take ownership of a discipline to move the company forward.

Mark — I appreciate your “Honest Advice on Starting a Company” at Standord eCorner greatly

Tracy — Your decision to jump into the internet world from the artistic world and drives great positive social impacts.   It reminds me of the decision that I made when I escaped from Viet Nam 30+ years ago as a young fisherman only to ended up in this wonderfully generous America, living with memorably giving (Jewish) family, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Charles_Kors.

Listen to your inner voice … Believe in yourself…  Zero in your target and go for it.

Much is appreciated, and thanks for sharing, Mark & Tracy!

Hope, we meet someday … I don’t have your emails.  I hope we can stay connected via LinkedIn.

I learned a lot from this episode and it enforced some of the things i assumed to be true, but had no confirmation.  Episodes like this are very helpful to the new developer and I know i will use some of the info i learned in my new venture.  I have enough capital to get my business started, but I will look to VC in the near future.  I have great plans.
